HEKTAŞ ZODIAC®
Active Ingredient: 100 g/L Spirotetramate
Formulation : Suspension Concentrate (SC)
Method Of Application
PREPARING THE PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCT FOR APPLICATION:
The plant protection product calculated over the recommended dose is first mixed with some water in a separate container. The tank of the application machine is filled halfway with water. While the mixer of the machine is in operation, the mixture is added to the tank. Continuing to mix, the tank is completed with water. The mixing process is continued until the application is completed. Use the prepared mixture on the same day.
CALIBRATION:
Before the application, the application machine should be calibrated. The amount of mixture to be given to the specific area should be adjusted to provide a good coating in applications. Applications should be made at cool times of the day, in windless or slightly windy conditions.
CLEANING OF THE SPRAYING MACHINE:
Empty the sprayer’s tank safely immediately after the application is complete. After filling the tank with clean water, run the mixer and spray system and ensure that all parts are washed. Do not wash near water sources. Do not discharge washing water and wastes into water sources.
USAGE OF THE PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCT:
An administration may be sufficient against pear psyllid in pears when almost all of the eggs laid by progeny overwintering are opened and the second and third period nymphs begin to appear, infection is recognized in more than 15% of the shoots, the flow of sweetish substance does not start and there are not many natural enemies.
The administration against apple green aphid should be carried out when 15 offshoots are contaminated.
The administration should be performed against peach aphids in peach when 7 infected branches are encountered in 50 trees as of the appearance of flower buds until 3/4 of the population turns into winged form.
The administration against mulberry cochineal in peach is performed against the first and second progenies. Two administrations are performed as one at the first larvae emergence and the second 20 days after that. However, in the second progeny, it should be considerated that some peach varieties have reached the harvest period.
The field is entered from the direction of diagonals against aphids on lettuce, and the administration is performed when the number of pests per 20-40 leafs is 10-20. However, the effectiveness of the benefits should be observed before deciding on administrations by observing parasitoids and predators.
In tomato (greenhouse), Pepper (greenhouse), Eggplant (greenhouse), the area detected to be contaminated with whitefly against tobacco whitefly is entered from the direction of diagonal. In every five steps, 50 leaves are collected from the lower, middle and upper leaves. When there are 5 larvae+pupa per leaf, chemical management is administered.
The management against citrus mealybug in the vineyard is carried out in two periods. The first period is the period when wetness begins to be seen on the bark on the body of the vine and the citrus mealybug starts to move towards the green part. In this period, the vines are about the size of chickpeas and the administration should only be performed for the vines where citrus mealybug is detected. The second period is the period when the citrus mealybug passes into leaves and clusters and the grains begin to become sweet. The administration may be performed in both periods if infection is detected in most of the grapevines and also in the exported varieties.
The field is entered from the direction of diagonals against tomato and potato aphids and Watermelon aphids, and one leaf is cut randomly from the fresh leaves and shoots of the plants once in 3-5 steps. As a result of counts made with loop in 20-40 leaves; if the number of pests per leaf is 10-20, it is necessary to start chemical management. However, the effectiveness of the benefits should be observed before deciding on administrations by observing parasitoids and predators.
In field controls against aphids in cotton, spraying should be delayed if beneficial insect population is dense together with aphids. Chemical management should be carried out when an average of 25 aphids are detected in a leaf during field controls.
INFORMATION ON RESISTANCE:
The plant protection product named HEKTAŞ Zodiac® is an insecticide classified as Group 23 according to its mechanism of action. Repeated applications of plant protection products with the same mechanism of action encourage the development of resistance. Therefore, in order to delay resistance development, do not exceed the total number of applications of HEKTAŞ Zodiac® recommended in the same production season. In cases where the application needs to be repeated, pay attention to the use of plant protection products with different mechanisms of action (except for Group 23).
A test pre-mix is recommended before preparing the actual mixture with other pesticides.
