Description

Specifications

Cayenne® is a newly-developed liquid (flowable suspension) insecticide for seed treatment. The active substance of Cayenne®, thiamethoxam is a systemic substance which is both a contact and stomach poison and acts upon the nervous system of insects. The active substance is absorbed by the roots following seed germination and rapidly transported to cotyledon, new offshoots and leaves. Besides, due to its long-term residual effect (6-8 weeks), thiamethoxam is ideal for seed treatment to protect plants against pests in their early development period, when they are most sensitive. Seed treatment is the most effective method for management of wireworms (Agriotes spp.).

Method of Application

Provided that a good calibration is done, Cayenne® can be applied using a flow seed treater, an equipment which sprays the seeds through nozzles as they move on a belt conveyor or spinning disk seed treatment machines which have mist chambers, with or without dilution. Rotating drums can also be used for application. Farmers can employ concrete batching mixers or pest control sprayers. If dilution is to be made, the product pre-mix should be prepared as follows. -Put water in the mixing container in the amount given in the example. Shake the product well before use. -While mixing continuously, add the required amount of Cayenne® in the water. -This pre-mix should continuously be mixed until it is no longer used. -Once prepared, the mixture should be used within 24 hours at the latest. For example, product in the amount recommended to spray 100 kg potato seeds is mixed with 1000 ml water to obtain the pre-mix. This pre-mix is applied homogenously on 100 kg seeds using the said equipment. For potato, the pre-mix is pulverized using a back sprayer onto the seed potatoes laid on a clean ground. Seed potatoes should be mixed well while spraying. NOTE: -Cayenne® may reduce seed flow speed on the sowing machine. So the sowing machine should be calibrated before use. – Clean the entire equipment after use. – The soil should be sufficiently moist and climatic conditions should be temperate in order to obtain the superior result expected of the product.

OTHER INFORMATIONS

Compatibility: Cayenne® can be mixed with WS and FS formulations of film-coated polymer preparations and seed treatment products with neutral reaction. A preliminary test is recommended before mixing with other products. Cayenne® cannot be mixed with solvent-based formulations.
